Intelligent assistants like Alexa and Siri, image searches that found the topic of a photo, and self-driving cars – these intelligent systems used machine learning to develop their expertise. In this module, I learned about various machine learning techniques but concentrated on deep neural learning. I learned about the underlying theory and got hands-on experience creating, training, evaluating, and using machine learning systems. I also examined how these technologies were used and misused and what that meant for our societies and communities.

Learning Outcomes

  • Applied statistical modeling and SPSS to analyze data in fields such as epidemiology, economics, and education.
  • Understood and utilized time series analysis, multivariate analysis, and Bayesian statistics.
  • Engaged with real data sets for practical examples and exercises, developing statistical modeling and critical assessment skills.
  • Learned to identify factors associated with disease through cohort and case-control studies, bias investigation, and meta-analysis.
  • Developed proficiency in using special statistical software, like WinBUGS, for Bayesian analysis.

I am unable to recall as to why this was, the module may have been structed differently to the rest. But i have no feedback saved for this module
